“The Chance to Unite Maghreb Must Grab”

Here’s an interesting thing about what I read today. As well as rising frustration with the hypocrisy of attempts at regional integration, the atmosphere of resignation in the Maghreb is increasingly palpable. Given the influence of the free market economy on the marked improvement of living standards in Morocco, while its brothers and sisters are struggling to obtain essential foodstuffs in resource-rich countries, it is clear that there is an urgent need for regional trade to increase.

As we dig deeper into it, political compromises will have to be made and the influence of regional trade will have to be mitigated at first but Morocco’s King Hassan II’s vision of making the Arab Maghreb one nation with one passport in which one nationality and one currency can certainly be achieved with the territorial integrity of its members intact at the time of the establishment of the AMU.
